project.</p>
<p>Still, there seems to be no project for GPGPrefs or
Services.</p></div>leveebreakstag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/299575232013-11-14T22:44:21Z2013-11-14T22:44:21ZUI issues with localization (was: Joining the Transifex translation team)<div><p>Hi levee,</p>
<p>let's continue here (instead of transifex).</p>
<p>It seems you made it into both projects? Transifex works in some
mysterious ways sometimes. But it works. If a language is complete
you can start verifying translations. Or leave the state as is.</p>
<p>Best, steve</p></div>Stevetag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/299575232013-11-15T00:20:38Z2013-11-15T00:20:38ZUI issues with localization (was: Joining the Transifex translation team)<div><p>Hi Steve,</p>
<p>Yes, Transifex is a bit confusing but I think I now understand
the basics (I have used it in the past but they seem to have
changed some things).</p>
<p>Anyway, in GPG Keychain Access, 100 % is reviewed. While I can
make suggestions, they can't be chosen as translation. I get the
message "Error: You are not allowed to edit a reviewed string."
after pressing Enter. I guess I can simply hope that the reviewer
notices my superior suggestions?</p>
<p>In GPGMail, 0 % is reviewed. So I can not only make suggestions
but also save them by pressing Enter. Doesn't this mean anyone can
join the project and overwrite my suggestions?</p>
<p>Also, it seems that a translation doesn't need to be reviewed to
actually be used in the application? Because clearly GPGMail is
mostly translated to Swedish.</p>
<p>Also, are there any plans to make the other parts of GPGTools
available for translation? Especially Services would be great to
have in the same language as the Finder.</p></div>leveebreakstag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/299575232013-11-15T13:59:17Z2013-11-15T13:59:17ZUI issues with localization (was: Joining the Transifex translation team)<div><p>Hi levee,</p>
<p>concerning the Transifex procedures: I'm not 100% sure how this
works but have had a look.</p>
<p>GPGMail: So it's translated and not confirmed yet. So you can
edit everything. Next step: verify. If a translation is correct you
can mark it verified. see: <a href=
"http://cl.ly/image/3L3h0i3q1F1G">http://cl.ly/image/3L3h0i3q1F1G</a></p>
<p>Once that is complete I'll have to check if / how we can lock a
complete and verified translation. Also I have no problem making
you manager for the two projects. Let me know if you're interested
in that. I'd have to check if two managers are allowed or not.</p>
<p>More info on the individual categories there are:</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>team coordinator: each translation team must have at least one
team coordinator. He is responsible for the localization part into
that specific language.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>reviewer: a user that has both translation and reviewing
permissions. A reviewed translation cannot be altered by a
non-reviewer translator. Reviewers are attached to a specific
language.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>translator: a user with translation permissions. Translators are
attached to a specific language.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p>There's lots to do concerning coordination the individual
languages. We need to address that, not sure when not sure how
exactly.</p>
<p>My understanding is, coordinators and reviewer can set the
review state or re-open / improve existing reviewed
translations.</p>
<p>Let me know if you are ok with that coordinator role and need
any further infos.</p>
<p>Concerning the other projects: we have that on the radar but
again: not sure when and how. I understand users would like to see
those tools in their local language as well. We'll contact all
localizers via Transifex once the infrastructure for that is
properly setup.</p>
<p>Hope this explains the process better :)<br>

gained review powers on GPGMail. And to answer your question, sure
I can be the manager for both projects (and future ones).</p></div>leveebreakstag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/299575232013-11-16T00:05:07Z2013-11-16T00:05:07ZUI issues with localization (was: Joining the Transifex translation team)<div><p>Sounds good. You should now have coordinator role for both
current projects on transifex in swedish language. :)</p>
<p>I'm closing this discussion. If you need further assistance or
have questions you can re-open this discussion here or open a new
one any time.</p>

<p>Thanks for making me coordinator of GPG Keychain Access. That
one and GPGMail should now match each other. And some other errors
were fixed as well. I think the Swedish translations are now in
pretty good shape. Also, Transifex on their end have made the web
editor easier to use, so it is more likely that I will continue to
improve the translations:</p>

<p>2 new questions:</p>
<ol>
<li>
<p>Will the current translations (May 13th) on Transifex make it
into the next stable release of GPGTools?</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Any news of localization of pinentry, GPGServices etc?</p>
</li>
</ol>
<p>Thank you</p></div>leveebreakstag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/299575232014-05-25T14:30:24Z2014-05-25T14:30:24ZUI issues with localization (was: Joining the Transifex translation team)<div><p>Hey, thanks for being so active.</p>
<p>Swedish has had a great history of being on top with
translations. Several people did contribute and having you as
coordination seems to be a good choice.</p>
<ol>
<li>
<p>Chances for the strings to make it into the final release are
100%. But as we do not have a feature freeze currently I cannot
promise new strings will not be added until the next release.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>We are somewhat unhappy about the state GPGServices is in.
Compared to the other tools it's been neglected for a long time. So
until we get that software under control and do a proper cleanup,
we wouldn't be happy starting to localize the version it is
currently in. As for pinentry, that might be worth an effort. But
there as well are lots of missing error messages and the like.</p>
</li>
</ol>
<p>Hope this explains the situation :)</p>

<p>thanks for all the reports.</p>
<p>1 GPG Keychain Access</p>

narrow<br></li>
<li>Pub key upload: the text for that is too long, can you find a
shorter alternative for the swedish localisation? I'm also thinking
to scratch "after key generation" because without a key being
created, it's obvious we have no pub key to upload.
Thoughts?<br></li>
<li>Fixed in source for GPG Keychain Access 864n. Still need to
update english source strings for Transifex (will do soon).</li>

<p>3 Key Inspector Ownertrust</p>

<p>Thanks for fixing those issues!</p>
<p><em>Pub key upload: the text for that is too long, can you find

thinking to scratch "after key generation" because without a key

Thoughts?</em></p>
<p>The Swedish translation is much longer than the English one
because it's currently translated as <strong>Upload the public key
after the keypair has been created</strong>. An earlier translation
was closer to the English one, simply using the word for
<strong>generation</strong> but it felt forced.</p>
<p>So, yes: I would definitely like if <strong>after key
generation</strong> went away so it only says <strong>Upload public
key</strong>.</p>
<p>One question, can you include the latest translated strings in a
nightly build? I would like a chance to see some new translations
for real before they end up in the stable version.</p></div>leveebreakstag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/299575232014-10-01T15:45:56Z2014-10-01T18:40:10ZUI issues with localization (was: Joining the Transifex translation team)<div><p>All those changed original strings are now on Transifex. hell out of that build. We are heading towards a beta release.</p>
<p><a href=

<p>A few strings will be added later. We're still working on
those.</p>

<p>this is currently a default apple string and thus not
localizable. I've created a ticket to use custom strings instead
which then will be localizable.</p>
<p>We've a ticket for this problem:</p>

the ticket is closed so you'll receive a notification. Feel free to
